Heights Hand Therapy OT is supported by our front office intake receptionist Ida Hinshaw, who cheerfully greets our patients and takes them through the intake process. She will assist you in scheduling, referrals, and billing.
Pamela holds a Clinical Doctorate (Doctor of Professional Studies) specialization in the Upper Quadrant degree and a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from New York University. Her career in occupational therapy spans 35 years and includes In/Out-patient acute rehabilitation, home care, supervision, administration and consulting. She has more than 25+ years experience in the field of hand therapy and was included in a select group of therapists who took the first hand therapy certification exam in 1991, yielding a professional certification in hand therapy and the credential CHT. Heights Hand Therapy OT is led by Dr. Lawton its founder, who is licensed in both New York State and New Jersey. She is an active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists, and the American Occupational Therapy Association. In addition to overseeing Heights Hand Therapy OT, she is an adjunct professor at New York University and Seton Hall University. She has taught at many universities/colleges including Long Island University, York College (CUNY) and SUNY Downstate/Health Science Center at Brooklyn. In her leisure, Pamela enjoys outdoor activities like cycling, hiking & gardening.
Claire holds a Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University and a Masters in Public Health Epidemiology from SUNY Downstate Health Science Center at Brooklyn. She has more than 11 years experience in the field and has worked in several practice settings including acute inpatient /outpatient rehab, pediatric outpatient and home-based therapy. Early in her career, she developed a keen interest in Hand Therapy and advanced her skills in this specialized practice area through independent study, continuing education courses and clinical fellowship. Claire joined the Heights Hand Therapy OT team in 2013. She enjoys swimming and travel in her leisure.

Eric holds a Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University. He has more than 15 years experience working as an occupational therapist in various settings including: In/Out-Patient rehabilitation, acute/long term care. His present clinical focus is in hand therapy and school-based pediatrics. He has been a member of the Heights Hand Therapy OT team since 2012. Eric is passionate about hand therapy and enjoys providing excellent and professional care to help his patients achieve optimal hand function. In his spare time Eric enjoys exercising, hiking, reading, meditating and traveling.
Natasha holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from New York University and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin. She began her specialization in hand therapy with an appreciation of anatomy and a clinical experience with Heights Hand Therapy OT, and was invited to join the Heights Hand Therapy OT team in 2016. She continues to develop her skills in hand therapy through collaboration, continued study, and experience in home-based therapy. She truly enjoys working with patients to help them regain hand function to return to their meaningful activities. She is working towards her certification in hand therapy. Natasha is also passionate about theatre, enjoys crosswords and a good soccer match.
Sara received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Judaic Studies from Yeshiva University-Stern College for Women. She holds a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Sara began her focused study in hand therapy through a selective fieldwork experience at Heights Hand Therapy OT and was invited to join the Heights Hand Therapy OT team in 2008. She has worked in acute Out-Patient hands over the years and is in preparation for hand therapy certification. Sara enjoys travel and spending time with her family.
